Hmmmm - this opens a new loop - potentially. I might have cropped some more of the foreground out and then included botht he left and right hand side of the couch.

LBStone said 2631 days ago:

Very simple, straight-forward, and human. Perfect.

eggplant said 2631 days ago:

Very interesting cropping choice. Somewhat startling, in fact. I think I like it.

smudo said 2631 days ago:

a different and daring take on the theme. it seems cold to stand there, freezing feet, which makes this image appear even more naked.

Flatline said 2631 days ago:

Well, you left out the part that is the most easily recongnized in a crowd - your face. But it's still a self-portrait. Definitely gets a high impact rating.

Mark_Hamilton said 2631 days ago:

Interesting concept- I would have never thought of this as a self-portrait. Captivating, plus the retro couch is very nice.

zorilla said 2631 days ago:

revealing or not? I'm not sure

cferroni said 2631 days ago:

It's a strange image, I am not sure what to make of it but it is certainly arresting.

shashin said 2631 days ago:

I don't mind nudity in photographs, but I think it needs to add to the photo in some way (just like everything else). So the photo doesn't really strike me as particularly artistic.

laundry day? ;)

cdcootie said 2631 days ago:

Certainly provocative and yet somehow seems to be missing something, besides your head.

amity said 2631 days ago:

Brave!

woah. very bold

culberda said 2631 days ago:

Love the tones and colors. A beautiful nude and a unique (and courageous) take on the topic. Well done.

Wow. This takes balls...so to speak. With just a click you've moved this theme - and by extension a bit of WeeklyShot - to a whole new place. (Very daring. Some might say too daring? I don't.) Leaving our your head and neck is perfect; you've said so much as it is. Really terrific. Wow. 5s across the top.

hmmm

eszpee said 2631 days ago:

The cutoff head, the lighting, the composition, all together makes it quite disturbing for me. Which is probably a compliment.

gavingough said 2630 days ago:

This is a brave effort. Certainly braver than I'm prepared to be.

forgingahead said 2630 days ago:

hmmm, could be anyone (female that is) buut you are brave to bare it all like this

Remiss63 said 2630 days ago:

image tells us about you. the crop of the head is a critical issue in this image. the amount of space left at the bottom (with carpet) emphasizes that even more, perhaps a little too much. the couch fits the frame quite well, extending just beyond the frame at each side. i wonder if cropping your feet off would have helped to balance the image better and to bring the viewer closer to you. since the picture is very nearly symmetrical, there's a tendency for it to be static. the dimensions of your body proportionally to the dimensions of the image make you seem diminutive. this may be intentional, but i think it weakens the overall image. for me personally, i think i'd crop the image as a square, keeping you centered and bring the frame at the bottom up to above your knees and just barely about the back of the seat cushions. to me this would serve to create a much more abstract setting and emphasize the "body" aspect of the image. if the couch is really important, then it seems like your body should respond or relate to it in some way.

i like it. thank you for submitting it. you have a beautiful body and have taken a very nice photograph as a self-portrait. keep pushing yourself to explore more personal, less static compositions.

TheInvisibleMan said 2630 days ago:

Without a doubt a different aproach.

CaptureThis said 2630 days ago:

Ummm, sorry but I am a mom and my kids look through this with me and I find this neither artistic or appropriate.

hans said 2630 days ago:

Simple human beauty. However, I usually like to see the person's face in a self portrait, but I like the artistic risk you took, as well as the "risk" involved with nude photography of yourself.

phototext said 2630 days ago:

Excellent image, a touch surreal, nice use of cold colours.

splendor-solis said 2629 days ago:

I kinda like the simplicity of this one..

Patrick said 2629 days ago:

I love the stark simplicity of this image, and the missing head amiing it somewhat anonimous

LynnR said 2629 days ago:

In a nouveau sort of way I guess I can see an artistic quality. (??)

lorissa said 2629 days ago:

a very intimate self portrait and i admire your openness to reveal this much of yourself. the lack of a head makes the shot for me as well as the starkness of the sofa behind you.

dawn said 2628 days ago:

Nudity doesn't bother me (as my flickr favorites will attest) but this doesn't speak to me at all. It is too cold, too clinical. It's like you're standing up for a lineup. The lines of your body aren't accentuated. The beauty of your body is not brought out.

Maybe that's what you're trying to attain.

If so, well done.

SSH said 2525 days ago:

Lovely.. I love the simplicity in this image. I know you have wanted to make this as simple as you could.. and this is an example of it. I really love and admire this ..

Cheers
