Interesting take on the theme. I had no idea that The Face on Mars was a WeeklyShot member ;)

I'll give it a few more hours before I let out what it is. I can assure you though that it's not a photoshop filter... The only post processing done was to bump up the contrast using curves and to add some edge vignetting. The textures etc are entirely natural.

This is my first post at weekly shot and I wanted to make a good first impression (literally!). I don't know what possessed me to think of it but this shot is a face impression in my kids sandpit... I then took the shot from directly overhead when it was not in full sun to accentuate the shadow area's. To be honest it worked out heaps better than I thought it would and the weird thing is that it looks like a cast (ie: coming out towards you) rather than an impression in the sand. Lots of fun but I wouldn't recommend this technique to anyone who doesn't like sand up their nose..
