Great use of complementary colors. It's just a shame that the wooden bottom of the wall shows, perhaps you would consider photoshoping it out (if it's not against your religion, of course)?

Lovely photo. Not uncommon (photo of people observing works of art). Nice color contrast between head scarf and wall. I don't think it would hurt to crop out the floor, leaving attention on the more important shapes above.

Now for this old traditionalist...the woman, wearing dark clothing, is standing in a darker area. It is clear to see that there is less light falling in the corner than toward the left side of the frame, and the top of the left-hand picture frame is getting pretty hot. I'd probably burn down the left side of the image (or hold back the right), to add some balance to the light and draw attention toward the woman.

Just shop talk. Good work. High marks.

I love the impact that the wall creates. Very nice capture.

wow, all that red certainly makes an impact :D seems to be lacking a bit of sharpness though?

The portrait (della Francesca ?) addresses the viewer and speaks to the soul in all the ways that this photograph doesn't.

I'm not saying all photography should emulate or aspire to rennaisance art, but it should have an obligation to respect its subject.

King said 2070 days ago:

@zorilla...and I thought this was just a simple W.S. theme entry. Live and learn.

P.S. - what if the viewer doesn't have a soul?

zorilla said 2070 days ago:

King: That's not just any corner, that's pseud's corner - and if you think that's pretentious, get a load of this... a viewer without a soul is like an ocean without water.

King said 2070 days ago:

pseud's corner or not, it looks like the viewer was there either off-season or off-hours. How great not to be crowded when appreciating the masterworks.

Beamer said 2070 days ago:

The subject is my wife and she stood there for several minutes really taking this in. At last check she does have a soul and because she tolerates me it must be a gracious soul.

I tried cropping this higher at the bottom, but didn't like it. Maybe I should have at least looked at the cloning approach. My ultimate decision was that leaving the molding in the shot grounded the corner in a way that taking it out would have voided.
