The guy was walking slowly, barely shuffling really, towards the corner and just stopped where you see him. He stood there for about 5 minutes, maybe more, exactly like that and just stared at the rocking chair across the street. Anyway I just thought it was interesting.

The white rocking chair and sign in the background are really competing for my attention. A more shallow depth of field, or some blurring in Photoshop would have helped. Also, I wish he wasn't looking away.

I'm glad you told us the story. I didn't realize he was looking at the chair. Looks like he really would like to go sit in it, and now it doesn't seem so out of place.

The photo fits the theme, but lacks impact due to the distracting blown out white chair in the background. A shallower depth of field would help along with a tighter crop.

The one peeve I have with Weekly Shot is the lack of ability to put a title in order to give a photo context.
In this photo so many don't "get" it, but if it were titled with say "Looking for a place to Rest" or something along those lines, then people would realize, perhaps, how important the chair actually is in this shot. Without that chair, this photo loses all meaning.

He looks relatively old, but I think the most interesting thing about the shot is it makes me think he really wants to get to rocking chair but wonders if it would be too much effort. Of course maybe old and shopping for a rocking chair, but I really like the inclusion of the rocking chair.
