i like it :) although i think the rose detracts a bit of the relevance away from this theme

Great shot! Everything about the man conveys waiting (his posture, the fact he's no longer holding his jacket, etc.). And the rose implies that he's waiting on someone. Really enjoyable photo!

Very nicely done. Makes you wonder about the story being told here. :-)

IMO, this shot is lessened by the colour selection. it would have way more impact if the whole shot were uniform.

For this theme you should just go ahead and make it B&W, was OK for selective saturation, but here it's just distracting.

this is just touching...

Thank you everyone for your honest critiques. I love to think this man was waiting on someone. The rose brings in emotional charge for me and I felt it a critical part of the photo which is why I selected it to be in color. I thought it was too small a detail to not emphasize it. Without the rose, it's just a man waiting. With the rose, it may be a man waiting for his true love.

I think you could have selected the man and the flower and kept the colour there, and slightly desaturated the background? Keep the colour there, but make it faded?
This is just so "in your face" that it becomes cliche instead of sweet and subtle.

Thanks much Ana. I understand what you mean.

This has a real classic feel about it.
Like he has given up waiting and just left the rose.
