I don't think that a *little* detail in the snow would hurt anything. I like the photo, though. It seems to be very popular on WS to break rules (if you think of a rule as being a good idea to consider when making a decision about a photograph), just for the sake of breaking rules. I'm not meaning to rag on your photo, but why do you have the horse walking out of the frame as opposed to into the frame--off center is not an issue. Or did you make a decision about that at all?

Hey, Tracy...I hope you know that I respect your artistic decisions...I'm asking for more information here.

good idea, but...

is that snow all over the horse's rump...or is it just over exposed? maybe a combo, eh? it looks like a cold and empty place to live. well, you can lead them to water, but can you make them drink? as the theme is defined i think this does quite well.

King -- first I have very thick skin and am seldom insulted by someone's opinion -- secondly I have missed participating in WS so much that when I saw the colts playing in the VERY WHITE snow, I was inspired. But the photo gods were against me and the colts would not cooperate, it was very cold (12 degrees) and then even though I knew it was only a mediocre image I wanted to play. I will try again tomorrow.

I did really like how the snow on his hip along with his own very white blanket (George - he is an Appaloosa and has big white blanket) created the neg space in the trees.

But you are right King, I could have had more detail in the snow and if he participates tomorrow I might get him moving into the picture. :-)
