This (to me) is over-processed. The colors seem almost unreal, and the ground looks odd. The sky is great, but for the blown out area.
Wonderful setting, great composition.

Great shot! I love the compo, your eye travels from one stone to another, to another.
Beamer said 1005 days ago:
I love the scene, the composition is great. The technique is weak imo. This appears to be HDR but the sky is totally blown out. Isn't the point of HDR to hold a more even exposure throughout the scene?

I want to place cartoon conversation bubbles over each rock.
"Hi, I'm Rock."
"Hi, I'm Hard Place"
...and the little one "Excuse me, I need help."
King said 1005 days ago:
Dramatic. Pretty good tones and shadow detail for what appears to be shooting directly into the sunrise. High marks.

@King, Thank you King you are the only person that analyzed the shot correctly. As you are gathering , I don't do anything easy, no lazy path out. Direct in to the sun and holding on by the seat of my pants in fear of lens flare from a 12mm lens. The grass was more than damp and the light gave it and the stones a very different look. Shooing in the elements is always rewarding regardless if you win or fail.

@ BEAMER SORRY CHAPY NO HDR. JUST SHOOING WITH A SUPERIOR CAMERA AND READING MY ZONES WITH A SPOT METER. I DID HAVE A COLOR METER AT HAND JUST TO SEE HOW INTERESTING THE COLORS WOULD GET. I HOPED FOR REDS IN THE LIGHT GRAYISH CLOUDS, but the red was more of the diaphanous red lace. If you mix THE YELLOW LIGHT YOU GET BROWN. GO BACK TO WATER COLORING. LOTS TO BE LEARNED IN COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY. " DON'T MIND THE CAPS. I'M A CRAPPY TYPER AT TIMES AND I MISS THE SHIFT KEY." :))) THE CLOUDS ARE LOW IT'S THAT TIME OF SEASON IN THE UK. The COLD FRONT there have A LOT OF MOISTURE IN THE THE AIR . The clouds ARE LOW… HAD THE WEATHER DROPPED 5 MORE DEGREES THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT OF GROUND FOG IN THE IMAGE. I HAVE ONE OF THEM FROM THE YEAR BEFORE. LAST THOUGHT. I DO ENJOY THE COMMENTS. BUT I STILL JUST ENJOYING EVERY ONES IMAGES NO MATTER. JUST THINK WE ALL GOT UP AND TOOK A PICTURE . IN MY MIND WE ARE STILL ALIVE AND HAPPY , AND NOT STUCK IN POLITICAL agendas. If you like I'll teach you how I see things. You won't find it in any photography book. Should you like to trek with meant eh UK it will be for a fee. (bangers and ale would be nice.) If you get to Scotland. You'll be in for a treat. They play Bad country western Music we reject at home.

@THELMABLIZZARD, Why do i get the feeling you just reached down into my pants?:)))) I was downtown working, my phone went off and I read your comment. Needless to say I had to sit down and just laugh. Regardless of the score, or points given. I have to say you gave me sunlight and once again I was laughing and remembering how special it is to have friends like you, Beamer, King and the Lot. I'm glad to be in everyone's company here. Thanks If you like a bigger picture I will send it to you for your comments. If I was a southern boy I'd have to make the obvious comment about one rock using shortening grease. like crisco.
Beamer said 1005 days ago:
I knew this was shot right into the sun and it certainly looks like spot metering. I just said it "appears to be HDR". This was based mostly on the appearance of the colors in the foreground and the rocks. I certainly can be wrong when I judge appearances!!

@Beamer it's ok . You are mt friend. I'm learning to be your friend as well.. cheers

Looks like an image for a whisky advertising !
Is it ?
Belle image - a minor point only : maybe the color process is a bit over (I'msorry for my bad english, it's always problematic)
