I've gotten pickier in my "old age". It also helps having less distractions...the kids who are pretty much grown don't bother me so much anymore when I am working on photos so I am not as distracted. I look at what I used to post a few years ago and well...I am ashamed.

There's no shame in growth. You should look back at those old shots and pat yourself on the back for all the progress you've made.

@kadenjack...thanks. I was admittedly very rusty and brand new to digital when I picked a camera up again in 05-06 after 25ish years away from doing any serious shooting other than taking snaps of the kids with disposable cameras. I know that places like Weekly Shot helped motivate me to get "back in the game" so to speak and get me closer to where I want to be.
