M4778 suggests this image is HDR. Is it? To me, it does not look blatantly over-the-top and seems as if it could be natural. So, I guess I am asking.... is it HDR, and if it is so, how did M4778 discern that?

@Lange. Thanks! Yes it is HDR. My taste is to push it just a little beyond a 'natural' shot. I don't how M4778 spotted it, but probably the give aways are low overall constrast (ie no deep shadows or extensive blown highlights) and high mid tone contrast (also known as clarity or structure depending on the software you use) which gives it a gritty look.
You could comment on this photo if you were logged in.
Personally i'm not a fan of HDR, but regardless this is a really neat photo. High marks from me.
