This is in St. Louis, Missouri. The neighborhood was full of houses like this... crumbling and sad.

I agree. I was in a really (REALLY) bad neihborhood and doing "drive by" type shots. This one was too far off the road to get close enough for a better view. Thanks for commenting!

I like this image in many ways... including the range of color and the textures that are displayed. For me, it feels like the focus is not quite as sharp as I would like, but that may be due to file size or something similar. Very nice overall.

I agree, Lange. As soon as I brought this to 750, it got all wonky.
But I still think it fit the theme well enough to post.

Sad scene, might have held a bit more interest in b&w for me. The foreground calls a bit too much attention to itself in color and value imo.

I tried it in b/w, but it all became flat then. I like the grass in front because it seems to put this home on an island....I like that feel of it.

Ana.... I understand.... I do not always get the same sort of image as I had previously when I resize an image for submission.

But regardless.... I think this image is wonderfully thought provoking and for me, the clearest indication that tells me your photograph is successful to me is that I find myself looking at the image for a long time.

In this area of St. Louis, people are literally stealing red bricks off of old, abandoned houses. They're worth money, so homes are just sitting around like this, without walls.
