I'm trying to like this. It appears to be set up, but I'm not sure what I'm seeing...are those a car's lights outside the window? The window seems unnaturally low relative to the unseen ceiling of this room. The background light is out of balance, falling off too fast from right to left. If this is, indeed, a set, then the lighting could be improved.
However, I give you credit for creativity and a good attempt to tell a story.
Sorry to be hard on this shot...just one old man's opinion. Average or better marks.

This is an old, abandoned house. It was found just like this, with greeting cards thrown all over the room. It is an upstairs bedroom, I think, and the light is morning light from the sun in the east. It was pretty early in the morning, the exact time I like to explore. I sat on the floor for a long time, and just sort of soaked in the feeling of the room, and took a few shots. Not a set.
Real life. That's what I'm all about. All the time. Real life. :)

Sure, Ana...that's you, but I didn't guess this was one of your photos and I don't think it qualifies as one of your best. What's the light shining through the curtains, then?
KevinG said 1011 days ago:
I really like this! The curtain hung so low on the wall screams out ground level. v.nice
Ana said 1011 days ago:
@ King I explained the light in my post from before.
King said 1011 days ago:
@Ana...you mean the light through the curtains is the sunrise?...then where is the light coming from in the room?
Ana said 1011 days ago:
There is another window on the other wall. That was the only light. Natural light.

A few weeks ago I said:
"I've told Ana a few weeks back that I love this pic. I love the BW, low angle, DOF, grain, the light through the little curtain thingy, noir feel to it, mess on the floor, wall texture, mood etc.
So high scores from me."
Still applies. 25.

Well Pete. I think it's time we give up on this one.
:)
We can love it together, in private.

Stark image! I like the composition and the super bright light coming through those old curtains. Looks like a lot of old memories at ground level - kind of a neat metaphor. I think the noise in the photo is entirely appropriate for the overall feel. High marks.

Hi Ana. Hopefully you don't have to "give up" yet. I certainly gave ya some high ratings. :-)
Ana said 1011 days ago:
Hee hee. Thanks to you, too, but no..... ha ha.
It is far from it. :)

I like this a lot, good use of DOF and tone, a different mood to the happy chicken shots and such.

"Carol Ann, listen to me, don't go into the light" Poltergeist. Love the image and the tension delivered by the curtain cloaked window, works on every level for me, theme and execution.

Hey Ana, What score is it at now?
Ana said 1007 days ago:
You're the best Pete.
IT aint happenin.

Sorry I missed this earlier in the week, trying to catch up this morning before the theme changes. This is familiar and I like it now as then!! High marks from me. Love the noir feel!!
