A very nice image! I enjoy the colors and shapes greatly. The ornaments look both "Christmasy" and also "Asian". I like the different positions of each ornament (presumably due to the wind). Two aspects that I would like to see adjusted... a) the right hand crop seems just a LITTLE bit too tight compared to the left. That would be an easy fix, and b) the greyness of the sky is not as conducive to showing the beauty of the ornaments. Now, I realize you have little control over the color of the sky, but if you HAD an option, the grey does not seem to enhance the rest of the image. I would like to know more about this photograph and about how and why the ornaments (lights) are strung in this fashion. Again, overall, quite nice.

this is in China town in London (England). these lanterns are strung over the street all the way along.
would love to try this with a blue sky, but that doesnt happen too often in London...
with regards to the crop on the right, thats how the photo was framed im afraid, silly me just it a bit too tight

Very close to very good. I love the subject. I wish the composition was right along the diagonal, from corner to corner with a little more breathing room on the sides. That would make a great graphic composition.

Having read these comments I feel a need to defend the framing - it'd be too obvious to have the wire going from top left to bottom right

A good one for the theme. Compositionally, I wish the bottom lantern wasn;t right on the edge of the frame. Looks like a difficult sky to be shooting against, too.
