Don't think its that relevant to the theme but on all the other criteria its gets good marks from me; the overexposed details in fore and backgrounds really add to the impact and the wide composistion and shallow dof all really work for me. Nice one

The exposure control is perfect. It is kind of tricky to nail exposures in such conditions. The subject being in the center of the frame adds to the drama, but I'd think an off-centered subject would add more impact.

Very striking. I am thinking the foggy background must be from Photoshop, but I am not sure.

yeah, the original was shot on 800 film rated at 200 which gave a misty effect anyway; then after scanning i made a selection of the figure in the middle, inverted the selection and applied levels and curves to the background to enhance the mistiness. for the record, there was some mist and frost there already, but i wanted more...

This is a very interesting shot for me. I actually like the over-blown, white and surreal feel. It's not exactly a portrait (in my eyes) but it's a very cool photo.
