Technically the image would be improved by the focus point being on the left eye instead of the right.

I took this photo 20 years ago with my first SLR and it was one in a series of the puppy chewing and then looking guilty, it is more of a sentimental image than a perfect shot.
And being a scanned image I have noticed, as with other scanned photos for this theme, that the quality and technique does not always seem up to par with the results from a digital camera. I could have sharpened it more but thought it would ruin the feel.

If yhe eyes were sharp this would work better
