Looks beautiful. :)

Good relevance, and lovely light. I like this one

Heath said 2006 days ago:

This is cool. Not only repeating colours, but repetition in the kids' poses and in the bouys. I like it.

Beamer said 2005 days ago:

I sorta get this one for the relevance. The rest of the scores could be better. I really wish I could see the kids faces a little. The float things in the water are distracting...

Ana said 2005 days ago:

Sorta get it?
Dad's red shirt, girl's red skirt (her hair), boys red shirt, and the buoys.
A red colour thread.

This did WAY worse than I thought. I wish the people that rated it so low would comment and tell me what is so wrong with it.

That's pretty frustrating.

Beamer said 2005 days ago:

@Ana, I didn't read the buoys as part of the thread, they just seemed distracting to me, now I understand why you included them. Maybe if they had been more in focus they would have read better for me. Also, didn't notice the girl's hair, my bad... If I remember right all my scores were 4/s except for compo.

Ana said 2005 days ago:

@Beamer...heh..your score might have been 4's but someone gave me a whole crap load of 1's. Or a few folks did!!
This is almost one of my lowest scores..ever.

And that hardly makes sense.

redish thread? nice captured moment

shonacole said 2004 days ago:

Ana, since you asked.... I gave it averages, when I first looked at this yesterday (but didn't ave time to comment or rate) I thought that the reds were a little weak cause they are different shades of red and the impact of them is watered down by the dominance of the 2 other colors - blue and green, which are very pleasing and the strong landscape composition (the slope of the green).

Then today after looking and rating many other images I could appreciate the red thread a little more, but in comparison some of the other images are, to me, stronger in the theme than this (like the pink or green ones already featured, and even Flipthom's blue and white one). i am partial to captured moment shots so I do like this one, but as none of the faces are visible it loose the sense of personality a bit. no faces are good in the right shot, to me that is when something else is strong. here the grass and the blurry sea are the strongest impact, so perhaps this shot would be better not as a movement/moment shot but as a landscape. but hey Ana, you are an awesome artist on the whole and in the grand scheme of things this is a great shot :)

shonacole said 2004 days ago:

I got a couple of really poorly rated shots too and I wondered why too :)

flipthom said 2003 days ago:

Very simple, yet relevant. The matching clothing and warm tones work for me. Looks like they were having fun.

Dave_Mac said 2001 days ago:

Other than the water markers and maybe the rocks, I see no repeating colours in this shot, so although it is well executed, it's not very relevant.

Dave_Mac said 2001 days ago:

I rated based on Shonacole's logic about the "reds". They're not the same (boy's shirt is a deep blood red, girl's skirt is pink, man's shirt is a washed out red, almost dark orange and the girl's hair is dark copper). So all I could go by in terms of matching colour was the buoys and the rocks, which are not the focal point of the photo.

Ana said 2001 days ago:

So the man with the dark orange hat in #36? Not the same shade of orange, but very relevant!
And all the other shots that have slightly different shades of the same 'base' colour?
Maybe I should have put a red wall behind them to make it relevant? (#49).
I mean..think about it..a red wall behind them, and this would POP with relevance. You'd SEE the reds.....
right?
meh.
No worries, I got a triple "You suck" for the theme I came up with. ;)

Dave_Mac said 2000 days ago:

Well sort of, yeah. In your example of the orange hat man, orange is very dominant throughout the entire shot in both size and contrast to the other colours (foreground focused and background left and right) whereas the dominant feature in this photo is the water, and then the grass. The flashes of red do not create a thread in my eye because they are small and very different in shade...they appear as nice little breaks in colour, but not repetetive or close enough in shade to lead me along. Hope that makes sense. As I havesaid before and with almost all of your photos, I love the shot! This one misses in relevance for me this time. So no, "you suck" isn't at all what I thought about it.
