I wish the woman in front had been facing either towards or away from the camera oinstead of walking. That would have balanced up the composition perfectly, two one way, two the other, and the one in front not going in either direction.
Still, unless she was waiting for a tram to come and run her over that would have been a bit on the difficult side.
Otherwise I think this is quite okay. Not hugely impacful, but relevelant and a nice street photo (and I guess then it's one of Richard's).

The crop has a nice balance between featuring the silhouettes and keeping enough at the bottom to feature the unique angle of the road. I also like how everyone is within a crosswalk despite a certain feeling of emptiness, like they are keeping order just for the sake of it. It's a bummer that the guy at the far right has his head occluded partly by shadow. Really a nice capture.

I didn't get to see this to rate as I had a busy monday morning start. I did look at it a few times though and was unsure what to say or how to judge. I did (and do) like it. It was very well composed and the compression makes it look very dynamic with the road dip and then the angle of left to right of the tram lines.
I probably would not have commented. But seeing it is a Kitaoka. I will.
The reason why I didn't comment before and probably why I am stumbling over my words here is that I am not quite sure what I think of the story. But I do very much like the visual qualities of it.
Sorry if that is a bit vague or non sensical....

Lemmingstone, when I first began shooting, one of my mentors told me to pick a photographer who I admire and try to replicate some of their shots. So I selected Frederic Larson of the San Francisco Chronicle. I went to SF early one Sunday morning when the light was good hoping to replicate this shot:

I waited near the intersection of California and Kearny where I felt the cable car tracks were good and when these five people started to cross, I got so nervous I remember actually trembling in excitement. I snapped three shots with my little Canon Rebel XT and got this one. Although it varies quite a bit from Mr. Larson's it is to this day one of my personal favorites.
