Love the compostion. The shadowed areas on the right seem oddly bright and over processed. Very relevant and interesting.

Would have cropped it differently myself but like the idea of this!

King said 1020 days ago:

@Ana. Thanks. I agree with you about the right side.

King said 1020 days ago:

Kettelarij...but Ana *loves* the composition. This is cropped 16:9, but could have been square or some other crop. This seemed to give the best impression of road (bridge) to the city.

Thanks for your comment.

I love the balance on this photo... light/dark and the lines (horizontal, vertical, diagonal). Excelent work. High rates on this one.

offtopic:
This looks like a film shot digitalized, am i wrong? I think the image quality suffered a bit from the resize I would suggest that you go for some advanced resize methods in Photoshop... there are some particularly useful, specially on scanned images.

I think this image has not great impact, as the bridge is too dark (and close) and the city is too much far away, not having such an impact on the result... or is it me?

@Rockas...Thanks for the nice words.

Yes, color negative film, scanned. Original width 2560 px, resized using Photoshop Bicubic>Sharper to 750 px.

What would you suggest?

@King
It depends on your level of patience.
The hard way... Luko's method... here's a page about it: http://www.trekearth.com/workshops/61240/
ofc... you can turn it into an action but that way you won't be able to adjust the steps accordingly to every specific photo.

there is an already made action that also works very well... you can find it here: http://news.deviantart.com/article/20250/
Just don't forget to customize the sizes you want as target sizes. So i suggest you make copies of the action inside Photoshop so you can have all the usual finial sizes you need. using this action, you will get a new layer above the base one that will be giving more or less sharpen according to the level of opacity you can adjust as you may prefer.
I use it a lot and it delivers great results.

Ofc... in both methods you will need photoshop but I guess the "luko's method" can be applied to Gimp as well... never tried, though.

I hope this will help you with those difficult ones.

I think I see the intent of including the bridge on the right. I'm not sure it really works though.

The exposure on the sky and the cloud shapes are outstanding though. High marks overall.

Haven't seen an image done like this before

Beamer said 1020 days ago:

The contrast between the old looking bridge and the modern buildings is the strongest part of this image for me. I do wish there was more exposure and detail in the bridge area.

Beamer said 1020 days ago:

Yep, Peter's bridge is better!! That's mostly because I've walked around it and seen it before!!
