Stunning! The scale of the storm clouds with the city below just proves that nature will always win out.

There's a city under those storm clouds that's for sure...but the forbidding nature of the clouds is over shadowing the poor little city below. Consider cropping down the clouds to bring more focus to the city skyline.

can you cut the city out a replace it with an ocean? NIce
RichardFord said 1015 days ago:
Does it for me. No matter how big a city can get or how powerful we humans can get - mother nature is just that much more powerful and can flick us away with little effort. Whoever said that man is hurting the earth? Ice ages, meteorites, tsunamis, etc. We are nothing.

I had the good fortune to be in Montreal when one of the most severe thunder storms in years rolled through. The storm never actually hit the downtown core but passed just to the east, it was a very eerie scene from the rooftop of my sisters condo.

It looks to me like a giant fly swatter - just waiting to slap down on the insect below. It is a good role reversal on the theme. Puts the city as the dependent actor and not the omnipotent metropolis to us small humans.

I think we need to see just a bit more of the ground plane. This tiny strip is almost distracting in it's lack of presence... Great clouds!

Oh well, guess I'm out voted! I'm not say a lot more, just a bit more...

Wow, interesting shot... but what is going on bottom-right?
TracyMartin said 1015 days ago:
@Flatline, do you mean the clouds? That was the leading edge of the front and outside of the frame was what looked like the next invasion. The front was a huge saucer like cloud, quite spectacular but it didn't translate as well framed by a camera.

amazing skyscape, I can see why you were attracted to the scene but it feels as if the lower city section of the scene is a bit of an add on rather than some meaningful focal point. Good impact marks from me but not so good compositional or relevance.

Weather more than city, but I really like. Beautiful moment, having the buildings peeking out at the bottom left is great compositional element.
