You know I thought about submitting one of my TTL shots too but my subjects were all plants and desert. This one is great and i really like it for this Theme. Maybe just a bit more "vintage" if b&w. The old movie projection format in theaters was more square. Nice one Tracy!

"'Closed on Sunday' once again impeded Suzy's need for a red licorice fix."

@Beamer - I debated about posting this because of the format but there is such a nostalgic feeling to it that it does lend itself to the theme. Yet I couldn't bring myself to make it b/w since the color is part of it's charm, like the licorice and the clock and the sign. :)

Tracy I agree the colors are just right for this image. I only mentioned the b&w to maybe push the vintage cinematic thing a notch higher.

LOL, I'm in the Waiter Protection Program... I dunno, the square crop just takes it out of the cinematic realm for me. I know that's highly subjective. Seems almost like an iPhone shot... which does NOT make it less valuable, it just doesn't read cinematic for me. It's also a little crooked, which irks me. I love the emptiness of the place.

...and yes, I like the colors, too...

Oh, how I wish this weren't so tilted. It could be very easily fixed. I love all the candy bins on the counter.

TracyMartin said 1039 days ago:

@Flatline - I am naturally crooked and when you add a Duaflex, a tube and a macro lens the possibilities are of being off kilter are endless. :)

@Ana - This is a straight shot through two cameras and framed by the second one, straightening is easier said than done and part of the charm of shooting this way. :)

OH, I know what you mean. I guess I like them either obliviously off kilter, or straight?

And this one is just enough off that it is noticeable, and not enough for it to be on purpose. You know?
