Figured as much

Not sure of the relevance here....maybe if they were running.

I was thinking of Jackie Brown as I submitted this. Or a Bourne movie... looking out - extra perceptive of what is around oneself.. the vista in front moves as the person bobs up and down.
Beamer said 1039 days ago:
Nothing really Cinematic here for me. The foreground is a bit dark, maybe a bit of split toning needed.
RichardFord said 1039 days ago:
@ Beamer
I should really shoot with the centre spot ND filter on to keep an even exposure from edges to centre. But I am trying first without to see what the vignetting is like. It gets higher the more you open up.
It doesn't make you think of the opening sequence of Jackie Brown? Just start humming 'Across 110th Street' in your head and you'll get it. ;-)

Very cool.
Flatline said 1039 days ago:
Not THAT cinematic for me. It's in a wide format and black & white, but there isn't an immediate story. It's also a little dark, probably because the auto exposure balanced the light for the bright ceiling... and it's a *little* crooked.
Flatline said 1039 days ago:
Oooh. Love an Xpan though.
RichardFord said 1039 days ago:
@ Flatline...
"A little crooked". You're not well acquainted with Chinese building standards I take it then? ;-)
One has to pick something to be the alignment. In this shot I selected the grout in the tiles on the floor.

"Out of breath and burdened with a too heavy carry-on, Angie cursed the travel agent who said 15 minutes was plenty of time to make her connecting flight."

@ Crispin
As a street shooter first and foremost - it is not accident that the people each had a foot off the ground - in stride. But yeah - more of a running pose would be even better...

A more clearly defined protagonist would probably give this a bit more structure and cohesion.

This reminds me of "Lost in Translation"
This is out of balance for me somehow but I can't pin it. Unsettling somehow

@ Martin... agree - like the back of someones head?

Richard, that would certainly do it! Nice shot, btw. Like how you worked the tones.
RichardFord said 1008 days ago:
@ Martin that is the film backing cast... I didn't save in monochrome saved in RGB. Different backings have very different colour casts..
@ Flatline
I metered off of the wall to the right. But I am not using the centre spot filter and I shot wide open so the exposure and vignetting does get a little out of whack. That is sometimes good, sometimes bad.

5s across the board. End of Act 2, as our heroes walk off to prepare for the climax.
Very cinematic, and not only because of the 'crop' ;)
