Probably the quietest crowd that we'll see on here. People may have a problem with the pole in the middle. IMHO, the soldiers and the ground are very much in focus and that makes them stand out enough. Plus, I doubt there's much you could do to get around it. Safety first...and land mines are nothing to be reckoned with.

@stolenlife..a few steps to the right there were about 4 trees. You can see the branch of one such tree at the right. I actually posted this not thinking it was the best shot, but wanting exactly this kind of feedback, so thank you.

Think this is the face on the right - Great subject here !!
War is a bad disease..

Wow, like this one a lot!! I really do wonder what it would feel like without the pole...? High marks for sure though.

Good concept but the post that divides the picture is too distracting.

Yes, the post sucks! It was raining, there was mud everywhere, and mostly I was trying to capture that face at the back of the group. I thought it was powerful!

Could you have cropped to the post, keeping just the right half of the shot, and maintained the quality? Just wondering

I looked at this again this morning and had the same thought I briefly had the other night: The pole could be a tent pole and I am looking out and the guy is yelling "move your ass Beamer, we're leaving"...

Beamer..yes, I don't dislike the pole, it gives it atmosphere.
yeah. that's it. atmosphere.

Well this is either flip or ana. Im guessing Ana.. Good detail, but I can imagine it being better without the tree, half a dozen steps to the right should do it
